B2B Account Manager

New York & San Francisco

Bite is looking for an Account Manager who loves enterprise / B2B technology.  The really geeky kind – we want to see your eyes light up when you talk about big data, NoSQL, and cloud (no, not the puffy kind). We need you to help our high-tech clients spread the gospel of geek! The right Biter for this job will be a great communicator and strategist with 5-8 years’ experience in the trenches of technology communications. And, bonus points, also good with the people, the boss of everyone’s dreams and a client whisperer–able to get clients, keep clients, and grow clients.

As an Account Director, you will:

  • Be your client’s BFF, the day-to-day client contact who understands the clients’ businesses and markets even better than they understand it themselves
  • Mix, match and combine tasks into holistic plans that shine, match those plans to the necessary resources and keep tabs on progress (and adjust!)
  • Manage 1-3 junior staff and the day-to-day of accounts, able to lead and motivate a team to wherever the Bite day might take you
  • Turn strategy into stories and stories into influence using your writing and content development abilities to know which mediums (digital, traditional, or social) will best influence the people who influence your clients’ bottom line
  • Poke your head out of the client sand now and again to help lead agency-wide efforts like new business initiatives and operations
  • Be an expert set of eyes and ears, proofing others’ content and mentoring them to become every bit as amazing as you are
  • Develop integrated campaigns across traditional, social media and in-person communications with only the tiniest bit of oversight

You, the Bite Account Manager of our dreams, will have:

  • 5-8 years’ experience in agency and/or in-house communications or marketing with direct experience working with enterprise tech brands
  • Experience managing people and/or teams (and those people love you)
  • Leadership, sound judgment, professionalism, planning abilities, organization, ability to multi-task
  • Proven media and influencer relations experience and understanding of the media landscape with established relationships with key media and influencers – i.e. influencers know your name and take your calls
  • Social media and digital programming experience
  • Ability to look into your clients’ souls and anticipate their needs, think         on the fly, and provide both strategic and tactical counsel that makes them shine (and Bite in the process)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The perks? All work and no play is a phrase we just don’t understand at Bite. That’s why we give you:

  • 5 weeks of vacation
  • 10 paid holidays
  • Birthday PTO
  • Competitive salary
  • Comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage
  • 401(k) matching
  • Long-term employees qualify for a six-week sabbatical after completing six years of continuous employment
